What is the 50 State Strategy?
This conflict has spread into four countries and gone on for more than two decades. It is time for Africa's longest-running war to be over. Period.
Our leaders have the power to end this violence. What they don't have is the political incentive to do so. The 50 State Strategy is our way to change that. Each of Resolve Uganda's campaigns to facilitate localized awareness and action across the country is a part of the Strategy.
We've laid out an ambitious advocacy agenda for the next year, centered around getting US support behind efforts to put an end to Joseph Kony's reign of terror and US dollars behind efforts to assist war-affected communities and help rebuild their lives. Getting this agenda implemented is going to require unprecedented attention and action from our policymakers.
That's why we need your help.
If enough people who care about the children trapped in the crossfire of this war put pressure on their politicians to help achieve peace, we can get this issue past the political tipping point and make ending this war a real priority for our leaders. But that's going to require all of us, from every community in all 50 states, to come together and make it happen.
If you look at our Congressional Scorecards, you'll see that many Members of Congress have been less than enthusiastic in their support for ending this war. Those who have taken action have done so for one very simple reason: their constituents asked, repeatedly and insistently.
Your action can mean the difference between continued neglect from our leaders, or the kind of real, concrete action that can bring this violence to an end.
Once and for all.
