LRA Disarmament and Northern Uganda Recovery Act of 2009 | For over a year, thousands of activists across the nation raced to build Congressional support for a bill requiring a strategy from the US government seeking an end to LRA violence and further recovery efforts in northern Uganda. On May 24th, 2010, that mission was fulfilled with a public signing ceremony by President Obama for the most widely supported Africa-related legislation in modern Congressional history, cosponsored by 256 Members of Congress! |

Dr. Coburn: Please Say Yes | In December 2009, Senator Tom Coburn singlehandedly blocked the LRA Disarmament and Northern Uganda Recovery Act from passage in the US Senate. In response, after months of broken negotiations and as the bill’s future lay in question, Resolve launched the most daring campaign in our organization’s history seeking a compromise that would ultimately save the legislation. |

Hometown Shakedown | Kicking off on November 18, 2009, Resolve and our friends at Invisible Children launched a nation-wide lobbying campaign seeking a final build-up of support in the House and Senate for the LRA Disarmament and Northern Uganda Recovery Act. On the first day of meetings, two key senators, Harry Reid and John Kerry, cosponsored the legislation, and a further 100 of their colleagues in the House and Senate joined them in the months to follow. |

How It Ends: 2009 Lobby Days | Our 2009 Lobby Days, partnering with Invisible Children, was the largest lobbying event for an African issue in history and helped kick-start Congressional support for the LRA Disarmament and Northern Uganda Recovery Act. |
