How It Ends Lobby Day picked up on Huffington Post

The Huffington Post published an editorial today authored by Maria Burnett, Uganda researcher for Human Rights Watch, about next week's How It Ends Lobby Day and the need for bold leadership from President Obama to put an end to LRA atrocities.

"US - not Ugandan - leadership is a key component in any multilateral strategy to protect civilians from LRA attacks and to apprehend the groups commanders who are wanted by the ICC. Without constructive and meaningful engagement by the United States and other allies, the LRA will continue to wreak havoc, and regional armies will claim success for domestic political consumption," Maria wrote Human Rights Watch is a policy partner for How It Ends.

Resolve Uganda's press statement for the event was also published on AllAfrica.

The statement discusses why event participants are coming: “We’ve seen the devastating consequences of half-hearted efforts to end this conflict. The U.S. now has a responsibility to make sure that doesn’t happen again, which is why these people are coming to D.C., “ said Michael Poffenberger, Executive Director of Resolve Uganda. “They’re here to raise the bar for the Obama Administration and make sure that the U.S. is giving its full support to the kind of real solutions that can actually end this violence permanently and keep abducted children and vulnerable communities safe from further violence.”
