The BBC is reporting that 75,000 people in northeastern Congo have fled their homes following gruesome attacks carried out by the LRA in the region last week.
The LRA carried out surprise attacks on two villages in the DRC and South Sudan last week, burning homes, killing civilians and kidnapping local children. UNICEF is reporting that 90 children were taken from primary and secondary schools in the villages attacked and is calling for their immediate release. President Bush held an emergency meeting with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni at the U.N. on Tuesday to discuss the LRA.
