Update: LRA leader delays signing peace deal
In a sign of how quickly the situation in Uganda has been developing over recent weeks, it now looks like Joseph Kony, leader of the LRA) has delayed signing the historic final peace agreement that would formally end the 22-year war between the Ugandan government and LRA. According to sources in Uganda, Kony requested more time to consult with Ugandan elders and contemplate the war crimes charges he faces.
Riek Machar, the chief mediator, said that he expected Kony to sign tomorrow. We'll keep you posted.
