August 17, 2007:

Ethan Helm and I just had our meeting with Rod Sweetman, the Arkansas Military Liaison and aide to Senator Blanche Lincoln. Rod knew a lot about the conflict in northern Uganda and other countries already, and he was very receptive to hear what we had to say. He had not yet heard of the Child Soldier Prevention Act and seemed quite interested to learn about it. He said he would encourge Sen. Lincoln to support the act and believed she would get behind it and vote "yes."

Overall, I think the meeting went very well! Only two of us were able to make it, but I feel good about what we dicussed and about Rod's reaction to it.
Thanks to Resolve Uganda for organizing this initiative. I feel blessed to have been a small part of it!
