Representative Jerry Moran (R-KS1)
September 24, 2010
“As a supporter of the Lord’s Resistance Army Disarmament and Northern Uganda Recovery Act, I pledge to read and review the President’s strategy to bring this 24-year old conflict to an end. While passage of this legislation was a significant accomplishment, our work will not be done until Joseph Kony and the LRA no longer threaten people across central Africa. Bringing this conflict to an end is the right thing to do. I eagerly await the President’s plan.”
Representative Parker Griffith (R-AL5)
October 18, 2010
"I am pleased that the Administration has begun the process of producing a strategy to address the Africa’s longest running war in Uganda. For over 20 years, Joseph Kony and his Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) have been waging war on the people of Uganda, kidnapping young boys brainwashing them, and employing them as child soldiers. The LRA has been responsible for many atrocities including the rape, torture and killing of Ugandans. The LRA has abducted an estimated 30,000 children and displaced 1.6 million people since its rebellion began in 1986. The time to end this conflict is now, and I applaud the Administration for formulating our nation’s first strategy for US assistance in resolving this horrific war."

Representative John Boozman (R-AR3)
October 14, 2010
"The brutal violence being committed by Joseph Kony and the LRA against communities in central Africa is unacceptable. As a cosponsor of the LRA Disarmament and Northern Uganda Recovery Act, I am committed to reading the President's LRA strategy and supporting efforts to seeing these atrocities end.”

Our nation’s leadership is needed to end this urgent and intolerable humanitarian tragedy."
